Peer Groups: Where Bold Connections Begin

Before arriving in Boulder, new GSBC students join peer groups - diverse teams of first- and second-year direct students. These groups connect virtually in June, then meet in person during a kickoff event on the first evening of the Session.

Throughout the year, they collaborate on the Peer Group Project, tackling real industry challenges together. The result: a bold, supportive network that pushes each student to think critically, act confidently and apply GSBC insights to their institutions.

GSBCx Readiness Courses: Shaping Future-Ready Leaders

GSBC believes senior leaders are meant to tackle the toughest issues—especially when no playbook exists. That’s the essence of leadership.

During week two, second-year students engage in Hard Questions—a roundtable-style course that tackles the tension between tradition and innovation in community banking. Through topics like AI and technology adoption and leading culture in the era of remote work, students explore real-time challenges, exchange ideas and develop practical, forward-thinking solutions to bring back to their institutions.

Past Hard Questions Addressed:

This course doesn’t just ask hard questions—it develops the leaders who can answer them.

Year 3: GSBCx Readiness Electives

In their final week, GSBC’s third-year students engage in GSBCx Readiness Electives — an intensive, interactive capstone experience that bridges foundational banking knowledge with future-focused strategy.

Designed to accelerate leadership growth, these courses push students to think critically, collaborate in small groups and tackle real-world challenges head-on. Built on the adaptability sharpened in Bank Management Simulation, GSBCx prepares students to lead with vision, innovation and impact.

2025 GSBCx Courses include:

These aren’t just classes—they’re the launchpad for the next era of community bank leadership.
